Hosting a Workshop

Hosting a TIPS workshop sends a powerful message to your community about your concern for your students. By sponsoring TIPS, you show that you are serious about addressing alcohol-related issues at your campus. All you need is a classroom location, a TV with a DVD player, and a flip chart or white board. We supply the training materials and a certified Master Trainer.

There are two hosting options:

Host an open workshop
Choose this approach if you'd like one or more TIPS trainers on your campus and you want to open that opportunity to other schools or organizations in your area. Staff members at HCI will be responsible for advertising the workshop and ensuring adequate enrollment.

Host a closed workshop
Choose this approach if you have at least 7 people at your campus who would like to become TIPS-certified trainers. For a closed workshop, you accept the responsibility for ensuring adequate enrollment in the workshop.

Either hosting option will result in one or more certified TIPS trainers for your campus. Trainers then implement TIPS by purchasing student manuals in lots of 10 and conducting TIPS sessions for your student body. The manual cost covers the student manual, exam processing, and retention of all certification records.
